“After covid I’ve been cranking up the tempo sometimes at the end of my sets, and in the summer of 2021 when I was the closer of a festival in France I remember at the very end of my set, that I just wish I had a good remix or edit of the French
EuroTrance classic ‘Désenchantée’ by @KateRyan cause that would’ve been absolutely perfect for that
;So after
that I decided I’ll make one myself for future shows in France, Belgium and the French part of Canada where I perform regularly,
so I made a pretty simple edit at first muting the very low frequencies of the original and
adding a big warehousy techno kickdrum, and that worked fantastic already at a few of these shows in France and Canada in 2022, but I also played it at my closing set at the Heldeep stage at Mysteryland in the Netherlands, not a French crowd ofcourse, but they were loving it! Afterwards the head
A&R manager of Spinnin’ Records had seen a clip of that and he messaged me that he loved it and he was asking me if I wanted to release it officially.
So I then went back into the studio and worked more on it, adding a few more elements like this happy hardcore binary voice synth arpeggio and some more percussion and
